James relishes putting his analytical and strategic thinking to work in finding solutions for the toughest challenges. Whether taking the lead on a project or as a contributor to the team, he believes a successful conclusion depends on listening and communication.

Adept at large-scale master planning and architectural design, James has broad experience in residential, civic and campus projects as well as designs for offices, retail stores, educational facilities, religious architecture and transportation hubs. His work includes a mixed-use development on the Gulf Coast of Florida, multifamily projects in Houston, Atlanta and Chicago, and off-campus housing communities along the Eastern seaboard. His strong graphic skills enhance design plans, making it easier for contractors and clients to understand his vision.

He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture. A former member of the Congress of New Urbanism, James focuses on sharing knowledge gained in a 20-year career with junior members of the firm.
