Brian Ward, aia, leed ap
Principal, director of design

Brian is an award-winning architect who focuses on combining innovative, conceptual ideas and pragmatic building practices. He is especially adept at leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, bringing a level of quality to the design work and coordinating the best efforts of the group, including landscape, interiors and site planning.

Brian believes in establishing project goals early and then staying focused on the overall concept throughout the design. His collaborative style is attuned to the clients’ needs, the site conditions, the realities of construction, and the necessary optimism required in creating community throughout the design process. With some 20+ years in the field, he draws on his own experiences to mentor up-and-coming colleagues and help them realize their potential.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design, Brian earned his Master of Architecture degree from Miami University and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He joined NBA in 2004 and became a partner in 2008. Brian serves as a mentor for the Urban Land Institute and is a current member of ULI Atlanta’s Livable Communities Council. He has taught architecture as an Assistant Professor at Southern Polytechnic State University and lectured before prominent groups on the art of design.
