Russell Sigman, aia, leed Green Associate
Senior Associate

Having worked on projects in 19 states with diverse climate conditions, Russell leverages his experience in navigating different regulatory environments to solve issues that often derail schedules. He asks the important questions early, leading to a smoother design process.

This is Russell’s third stint at NBA and the firm is delighted that he has found his way home and it can once again draw on his leadership, technical strength, and ability to make an impact on the success of projects. With an understanding of whether clients gain value on decisions that could affect the bottom line, he’s able to quickly resolve critical issues that impact efficiency and budgetary considerations as well as design intent. Solution oriented, a skill especially critical with supply chain issues, he seeks input from consultants, contractors, and team members to build consensus and find options for clients, and then translate them into technically solid and constructable documents. Russell always keeps the atmosphere light and takes pleasure in teaching and mentoring the junior staff. His recent projects focus on multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, military and student housing, and offices, but he is deeply immersed in growing the aviation studio. Russell worked in the LEED Gold certified housing complex for CalPoly and was the Association for Retail Environments’ Grand Prize Winner for the Neiman Marcus store in Walnut Creek, CA.

Russell received a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
