2025 Summer Internship Recap

As summer comes to a close, we’re reflecting on another season filled with learning, collaboration, and fun. This year’s intern class brought fresh perspectives, creativity, and an eagerness to dive into projects across architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design. Our interns joined us from universities across the country, including Northeastern, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and UGA. Over the course of the program, they gained firsthand experience working alongside project teams, contributing to design charrettes, and participating in client presentations. Their curiosity and dedication left a lasting impression on our studios.

One of the highlights of the summer was a site visit to 340 East Paces Ferry in Buckhead led by Mohamed Mohsen, April Johnson, and Brian Ward. Touring the 22-story high-rise gave interns a behind-the-scenes look at how drawings on paper transform into a landmark on the skyline. From amenity deck layouts to glass façade details, the visit provided invaluable exposure to the complexities of multifamily design.

“I spent the summer working with a great project team on a variety of tasks, including construction drawings, field reports, and schematic design for multi-family apartment buildings. I learned so much from them, and the experience helped me develop as an architectural student and designer. A special thank you to James Stephenson and Katie White for their mentorship throughout the summer. Their insight into the profession of architecture has been incredibly valuable to my growth as a future designer. They gave me opportunities to attend site visits, client meetings, and design meetings that gave clarity to the complexities of architectural design.”

“Interning at Niles Bolton Associates this summer has been an incredibly valuable experience. I had the opportunity to work on a multitude of projects in different phases to get a full dive into the real world of architecture beyond being a student,” said Gianna Aruilla, Master’s student at Clemson University “I learned a lot about the importance of communication through team and client meetings, as I was able to be involved in these, helping me grow as a professional.”

We’re grateful to our interns for their hard work and enthusiasm this summer. Their contributions enriched our projects and our culture, and we look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the years ahead. Here’s to another memorable summer—and to the bright futures of our 2025 interns!
