Longleaf at Liberty Park
Vestavia Hills, Alabama

Summary
With a goal to eliminate the institutional feel commonly associated with senior housing, NBA designed the building to feel reminiscent of a hotel experience with a variety of amenity spaces/vignettes and unit floor plans. The building takes advantage of direct proximity to the Cahaba river on the Northern side of the site. Most of the amenity spaces are afforded views of the river and the outdoor courtyards face the river bank, shielded from the adjacent street by the mass of the building. Aesthetically the building takes cues from the Victorian architecture of the adjacent Mountain Brook community, while also incorporating the clean lines and material palette associated with modern farmhouse architecture.
