Shawn is the go-to guy at NBA for code interpretation, having cut his teeth on the subject working on market-rate communities in the Northeast. He is able to clarify issues so projects can proceed efficiently and compliantly.

A specialist in building code and life-safety evaluations and code research, Shawn has 24 years of experience in multifamily residential design and conducting peer reviews. He’s involved in plans for building layout and egress and other areas requiring code compliance and in determining how client needs can be satisfied within code parameters. Of late, he has been conducting peer reviews of multifamily residential, mixed-use and hospitality projects.

Shawn has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. As part of his contribution to the firm’s development, he is also writing Technical Architectural Committee bulletins.
