NBA Adds Two New Shareholders to Ownership Group
Niles Bolton Associates has added two new shareholders to its ownership group: Katherine Uhrin, AIA, NCARB, and Laura Wolf, AIA. Their elevation reflects NBA’s continued commitment to cultivating leadership from within and recognizing NBAers who demonstrate design excellence, technical expertise, and a dedication to the firm’s collaborative culture.
Both Katherine and Laura bring years of experience across a range of project types and geographies, along with a shared passion for mentoring emerging designers and advancing people-centered design. As shareholders, they will play an expanded role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction while continuing to contribute to projects nationwide.
Katherine Uhrin joined NBA in 2016 and has steadily grown into a trusted project and design leader. A graduate of Auburn University, where she earned dual degrees in Architecture and Interior Architecture, Katherine brings a holistic design perspective that spans concept development through construction administration.
As a Project Manager, Katherine has led large-scale multifamily, mixed-use, and student housing developments, navigating complex programmatic and technical requirements with clarity and confidence. Her work on award-winning projects such as Camden Buckhead and Flamingo Crossings Village highlights her ability to align design intent with constructability, schedule, and client goals. She has also contributed to NBA’s modular housing initiatives, supporting innovative delivery models that advance efficiency, scalability, and housing access.
Beyond project work, Katherine plays an active role in strengthening NBA’s internal design culture. She leads firm-wide design roundtables, serves on the firm’s recruiting committee, and mentors younger NBAers. Her leadership also extends beyond the firm through involvement with AIA Georgia, Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction, and the broader design community. In recognition of her impact, she was named a 2025 Rising Star in the AEC Industry by Zweig Group.
Katherine’s promotion to shareholder recognizes her commitment to design quality, collaboration, and the long-term success of both her teams and the firm.
Laura Wolf joined NBA in 2014 and is known for her approach to design, strong technical foundation, and ability to guide teams through complex project challenges. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Georgetown University and a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College.
Laura’s experience spans multifamily and mixed-use projects across urban markets, including work in Washington, D.C. and New York. She is valued for her ability to translate client vision into cohesive design solutions while maintaining attention to detail throughout documentation and construction, including work on high-rise projects such as The Leaf.
In addition to her project leadership, Laura contributes to firm-wide initiatives that support consistency and innovation. She serves on NBA’s Revit committee, collaborating with consultants and internal teams to advance best practices in digital design and coordination. A graduate of the ULI Washington Leadership Institute, Class of 2025, Laura is also Co-Chair and founding member of AIA|DC’s Housing the DMV Region Committee and co-chair of ULI Washington’s Case Study Committee. She is an engaged mentor, helping guide younger staff as they develop both technical and professional skills.
Her elevation to shareholder reflects her sustained impact on NBA’s design excellence, operational strength, and collaborative culture.
