Ronkonkoma Hub Breaks Ground

The Ronkonkoma Hub transit-oriented-development will create a new mixed-use center adjacent to the most active commuter rail station of the Long Island Railroad and the Islip airport. While a major commuter rail center serving over 14,000 daily riders, the existing site is an area of blighted real estate and few services. The new TOD will provide much-needed rental housing and urban amenities. It is creating a new town center where none currently exists. Niles Bolton Associates collaborated with the Town of Brookhaven and the selected Master Developer to create a form-based code for the area. NBA is now working with Tritec Real Estate on the design of the first phase which includes 489 units of rental housing anchoring one end of the development.
