NBA and Terminal Break Ground on New Residence Hall at NJIT
NILES BOLTON ASSOCIATES AND TERMINAL CONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCE
GROUNDBREAKING OF OAK HALL AT NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
NEWARK, NJ — June 10, 2025 — Niles Bolton Associates (NBA), a leading architecture, planning and design firm, and Terminal Construction, a premier general contracting, construction management, and design-build firm, proudly announce the commencement of construction on Oak Hall, a new 15-story residence hall at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Spanning 191,000 square feet, the building will feature 453 beds within 154 apartment-style units and is anticipated to cost $100 million. Set to open in August 2027, this new residence hall marks the next phase in the team’s ongoing partnership with NJIT, following the successful delivery of Maple Hall in 2022.

The project is being delivered through a design-build approach, with Terminal Construction serving as the general contractor, Niles Bolton Associates as the architect of record, and Netta Architects as the associate architect. Oak Hall will replace NJIT’s second-oldest residence hall, meeting the university’s growing demand for modern student housing. Additional contributors include KEA Engineers, O’Donnell & Naccarato, Langan, Professional Systems Engineering, Lewis S. Goodfriend & Associates, SLS Consulting, Noresco and Jacobs Doland Beer.
